Tamil Nadu is an ideal place for investment especially for industry and commerce because of the great potential of the work force. The abundance of engineers available here, especially in Coimbatore with the Polytechnic College and other Good Engineering Colleges also makes it an attractive prospect. The State has a healthy number of per capita Engineering College Seats available. Tamil Nadu has a good industrial atmosphere – minimal labour unrest, good infrastructure, easy access to nearby ports i.e Chennai, Tuticorin and Cochin. Tamil Nadu has good Air, Road and Rail connectivity which is one of the main requirements for any organization to flourish. Tamil Nadu Government officials are also very supportive and cooperative, a prime factor responsible for the steady expansion of industry in the State.

The Roots Group of Companies was established in 1970 with just 2 people and now in 2015 is a team of more than 2500. In a country that used the automobile horn almost as much as the brake, it was a tough challenge to create durable, reliable and good sounding auto horns in the 1970s. The development of Roots Electric Horns took almost a decade to attain fruition. In the meantime, the company made inroads into the air horn market with the first-of-its-kind electric air horns.

Today, Roots manufactured horns find a place of pride in the world’s most trusted automobile brands and is the eleventh largest auto horn manufacturer in the world. Captive component manufacturing arms to sustain the group’s commitment to quality became imperative as market demands grew. Roots Cast, Polycraft and Precision Engineering were the result of this initiative—to remain both, self-reliant and competitive. In time, each of these divisions grew to build an external customer base as well. Today, in addition to catering to some of the world’s most trusted automobile brands, Roots companies such as the tooling division, also deliver critical components to aerospace and medical instrumentation sectors. Roots MultiClean Limited was conceived to deliver world class mechanised cleaning solutions to the Indian manufacturing and service industry.
