Kamarajar Port Ltd. (formerly ‘Ennore’ Port)

Kamarajar port is one the major ports in the Country and we are new port and is a company unlike major port trusts and we have huge potential to grow. At present we are having about 13 million capacity and going to become 100 million capacity within a period of 2 – 3 years and we have plans to increase the cargo handling capacity by setting up various new projects like liquid terminal, coal berths, LNG etc.


Kamarajar Port Ltd. (formerly Ennore Port) is a new Corporatized Major Port in the country and third Major Port in the state of Tamil Nadu. The uniqueness of the Port is large scale private investment on BOT / PPP mode. Though the Port was initially conceived to handle Coal for the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board, now it caters to various users in the State by handling liquid cargo, cars, automobiles, etc. The Container Terminal in the Port is scheduled to be operational by the end of year 2015-16. The excellent road and rail connectivity to Port has inspired more and more users to opt for KPL.

The Port is developing further new berths which will increase the present capacity of 34 million tonnes per annum to 100 million tonnes by 2020.
