HLL is implementing an infrastructure cluster development for Medical Devices & Equipment sector. The project is named as Medipark, to be set up in 330 acres of land in Chengalpet, Tamil Nadu. The project aims at expanding the manufacturing base of Medical Devices and Equipment sector in the country. The medical devices & equipments industry in India is estimated to be Rs 30,000 Crores and nearly 21,000 Crore worth of this is imported. Medipark is country’s first infrastructure cluster, exclusively designed for this sector.
Medipark will have well developed plots with basic infrastructure like power, water, road network, landscaping, logistic hub etc. Plots will range from 0.50 acres to 3.00 acres in size. A unique feature of Medipark is the Knowledge Management Centre, designed to facilitate research, innovation and incubation for this industry.
The estimated project cost of Medipark is Rs 135 Crores. The project is being implemented with the equity participation of Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation (TIDCO). Requisite clearances and approvals for the project on a single window clearance basis are in progress. There are specific incentives, benefits and concessions to the units coming up in Medipark under the Industrial Promotion Policy of the Government of Tamil Nadu.
